Identifying Trends

Just wondering for those of us who live in areas like NY and are looking to invest in markets elsewhere, how could we go about finding information on housing markets and trends in other states? For example maybe information on an area where there is a large amount of new business? and other types of similar info. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me or suggest other ways to identify potentially profitable areas. Thanks!!

Look for investor groups that occasionally have websites you can look on. If you'd like, I could pm ya' a link to the one here in Georgia that meets in Atlanta. You could post a message there looking for a partner to help you, if you wanted.

Have you ever thought of investing in Canadian real estate I am from Nova Scotia Canada and have sold many properties to Americans and they all commented on what deals they got.

I don't know about investing in other countries because I would think that things would be a little complicated with currency fluctuations and laws but when I become more experienced I would definitely consider it.
