I Am Getting More Confused The More I Read..HELP!!
Hi, recently I have been interested in REI so I started by doing a search and found a ton of information about tax liens, forclosures...then I found this site and have read just about everthing on it and I am still not sure where to start. In my searches I founf this site:
****Must Reach Freshman Investor status before posting URL's***
has anyone seen this and is it legit?? Seems like every site has its *own* very expensive program that you *have* to buy in order to be successful!! Is it worth it to buy any of the courses?? Will it really help?? Did any of you start out that way? what about some books on the subject, will they give you the info to get started?
I own a house on Lake Norman in NC, I have 10k to invest, but I don't want to be a landloard. I tried that and got screwed. What should a newbie start out with for an investment?? Can you REALLY buy homes with NO money ? seems like they say you can, yet in all I have read I read NOTHING about HOW to do it, and WHY is it such a secret?? ANY advice would be appreciated.
Hi akasha,
If I were in your position of "information overload" then I would probably start by the process of elimination for my investing. The ultimate goal here would be to find some area of real estate investing that you would like to start in.
You could start at the table of contents of the forums and see the basic investing strategies available. Then since you have stated you don’t want to be a landlord, you can eliminate anything to do with tenants. Since you already know that Tax Lien sales in your state are not an option, you can eliminate that. See where I’m going?
Once you have eliminated everything that you don’t like or doesn’t apply to you and your situation, what do you have left? Now your list of choices is more manageable. Now you can concentrate on the direction you want to do and feel comfortable doing.
Then it is just a matter of becoming more educated and informed about that particular niche you have chosen to start in and of course doing something with this education.
Hope this help
