HUD Property Inspection

Im buying a hud property. the sale is as is and the property needs a lot of work specially since some copper pipes are missing. i will be doing new kitchens, new baths, new floors, lights, etc...

Im considering hiring an inspector to help determine all the work that need to be completed. cost of inspection is $600. Is this a good idea or a waste of money since the place needs to be completely rehabbed? what would you do?

i think its $495 with the no frills "For Sale by Owner" company. Sorry, I havent seen it under $400.

Yes, its worth it $$$ to get the MLS, you get www.Realtor.com and all the other, internet is pretty useless if dont have it on MLS...sorry.

You also need to decide if you will pay 3% commission for realtors to show your home. You are definetely on your own if you down offer to pay the 3%.
