How To Itemize Deposit Returns
I had some renters move out and I am not sure how to justify the amount of deposit I want to keep. For instance, the steel door going into the garage has 2 dents in it from a fist hitting it (they are knuckle dents). The door was brand new and flawless before the renters moved in. Also the carpet was brand new with no stains or wear and tear. There are stains now that cannot be removed but overall the carpet is still in good codition. How do I figure out how much of the deposit to keep for these damages?
