How To Find Owner Of Property?

What resources are you all using to find out the owner of a property where you know the address, but the property is rented?

Check the web for your county's "property appraisers website" or something like that. Most major metros are getting those put up now. I've even seen very detailed sites in smaller areas with photos and diagrams and tax records, the works!!! research, research, research!

    Hello,

You can find all the info you would need through MLS/Realtor if you have one you work with. You can always knock on the door and ask the tenant how to get in touch with landlord. I know in MD there is a TAX Records website. Im sure there is one for DC as well.

    Good Luck

County tax appraisal district is a starting point, next I use the neighboring owners as information sources, and finally (slowest) the deed records accessible via title companies and county records office.

Go to www.dc.gov website and go to the real property tax link. you'll be given all appropriate info on the owner of property. if have any questions concerning the d.c. market, e-mail me or call. thanks. happy investing.

The tax authority in your city/county will have an address for the home owner.

If the owner has bailed out, you may have to hire a lawyer or "Skip Tracer" for $50 to try to find him.

goto your county auditor. they should have a web site where all you have to do is enter the address and it will give you most of the info you need for the property. if not you should be able to call the office and ask for the info you need from someone there.

Yeah, I found a really useful site for my county that even gives a helicopter view of almost all properties in town. It's incredible.
