HOW MUCH AND WHERE DO YOU GET COST ESTIMATES-ARE THEY FREE?
I have a project in mind and i need to know how much it cost to repair-what do i look for in a all-in-one cost person-in yellow pages? what are they called?

They are called contractors....lol.
If you have little to no knowledge in
the field of construction then it would be
wise to hook up with a small contractor,
as well as a home inspector.
Fortunately I am both so I don't have to worry about that side of it.
Estimating is not all that difficult.............where most people, including contractors mess up are being
to tight on their estimates and leaving out
items.
I have various software programs that have estimating programs with them however I have made my own spreadsheets that are more useful than
any estimating programs that I typically have used.
All I do it just update my material list
monthly and the spreadsheet does the rest.
It takes me about 1/2 hour to do an estimate on a basic remodel or spec. home. Larger projects usually take about 1 hour.
