How Do I Find Out If A Property Has A Mortage ? More Then One ?

ok i know its public knowlage ( most of the time ) but at a tax sale or assesment sale i would like to buy the ones with no lein or a low mortage on it .....so say theres 30 or more sales , how do i find out whats owed on the propertys before the sale ??? i know the clerk at the counter is going to tell me to get lost if ask for that much info ......any ideas ??? thanks in advance

    You are entitled to the public record on any property, which includes mortgages and other liens. If the clerk at the counter tells you to get lost, speak to a supervisor. In some areas it may be available online.

    Go to the County Recorder of Deeds (or access it online if availlable). Or the equivalent in Nevada.

    Around here you can just call the court clerks and they have to answer your questions all day long. Or you can go to the library or courthouse and get into the records.

    I usually find out if the owner wants to sell the house before I research liens and judgements.
