how bad is too bad?
Newbie question... I'm not sure how bad a house can be before it's of no use to ANYONE in REI. Some say "cosmetic only" while others say roof caving in, water, trash, wood rot, you name it! Nobody really mentions foundations. There's a vacant house in my neighborhood (75K-95kcomps). CAD has it at 58K. The land's worth 30K. Neighbor says it has been boarded up 2 yrs but vacant much longer. needs foundation & sewer work. 4 yrs ago the estimate to fix was 60K!! It also has several liens (according to neighbor). County tax has been current until this year when the bill was returned undeliverable. Does anyone see this as a challenge or does everyone think it's a waste of time? I actually have 4 vacant/aband. properties but can't find owners! I'd love some feedback on this!!!
