I heard there are people investing in burned down properties. I guess since the house is written off by the insurance company and the home owner gets his cash from them, it is up to them if they want to rehab it or not, or they can sell it to someone else for a fair price. You have to have some professionals (contractors) that are familiar with rehabbing burned down homes. If it is a block home, there shouldn't be to much to do but the walls, roof, electrical, plumbing and whatever else it needs. Some people may think that it is expensive to rehab a fire damged home, but in reality, it just depends on how bad the damage is. It may only cost $15k-$30k to rehab and if you picked it up for $10k, you are into it for approx $40...what if the house was worth $80 and up. I would say thats a good deal.

    Hope that helped!
