When I am looking at the court house documents for Lis Pendes and it shows the mortgagee as a Homeowners Association what exactly does that mean?
Thanks
THe property in question is probably owned by the association where the property is located.
Most associations are actual corporations and they are usually formed once the builder is finished with the property.
If the builder or investor wasn't able to sell every unit in the property the association may have taken ownership, that is if they weren't already the original owners.
If you're looking for more info, you might try to contact the management company that maintains the property for the association. They can probably give you contact info for the president of the homeowners or the info for someone on the board.
