Home Insurance

I can't seem to find any reasonably priced home insurance for my rentals.
I have one that's ready to refinance and has a tenant ready to go. I got quoted for 1000/yr that's waaaaaaaaay too much.
Any suggestions for Florida Home insurance?

When you refinance, you don't need a new insurance policy. Just leave the old one in place and change the loss payee clause.

    $1000/yr doesn't seem outragous

insurance for rentals is much higher than insurance for owner occupied

    JB,

Insurance for your rentals isn't considered by the insurers to be "homeowners" insurance. Since they aren't owner occupied, the rating factors are much higher. Carry higher deductibles and, if possible, combine properties owned by the same entity (you or your business) on one contract for rate savings. Good luck, Tim
