I have an opportunity to get half of a duplex cheap is this smart? what would I do with HALF of a duplex? :-? :-?
This is similar to buying a unit in a two-unit townhome. Although, i'd be interested if they are turning the property into an association with the yard as common area or if they are splitting the lot in half and saying you have a common wall.
You can rent it out just as you would a SFR. Or resell. It's not much different then SFR but you share half of outside maintenace with another owner.
