Guess What Gang? I Got Another Question.

there is a house in my area that has been vacant for months. i don't know why its been vacant for so long but i do know that it needs alot of work. my question is i was thinking about buying it and maybe selling it 'as is' as soon as possible to places like 'we buy houses' etc. the problem is i don't know who owns the house nor to i know how to go about finding out any info on the house. so how would i go about finding out about this house also how much do you think i should pay for this house and how much should i sell it for. the houses in the area are between $200,000 to $649,000. another question do the places like we buy houses go for houses like these and is this a good beginning for a newbie like me. any responses would be appreciated. thanks wink

Check the property appraiser and or tax collectors information on the house. I'm sure plenty of people would be interested for the right price

You can hire a company like www.deadleads.com to find the owner for you. Best of all it only costs $25. You can check the recorders office for info on any mortgages.

I am not sure about CA but in connecticut and new York all the information that you could want for names is in the assessors office. Once you have the name from the assessors office then the people in the land records can help you find out about mortgages, tax liens, etc on the property. I would be willing to bet that the owner will not sell for less than what remains on the mortgage, etc but anything higher than that and it will depend on your negotiating skill. Good luck

yes this is the kind of house any investor would buy depending on who owns it. One way to find the owners is to go to the court house recording office and look up the address. It should tell you the owner and you'll be able to determine why it is vacant. ie went to foreclosure and didn't sell during the auction.
    Good luck
