Getting started in real estate investing
Hey my husband and i are anxious and determined to get started in real estate investing and are especially interested in foreclosures and flipping properties. Please help, your comments and advice would be appreciated.
I sugegst bird-doggin first for an investor till you know the in&outs of looking for deals. Then you may move on to flipping and rehabbing, etc ...
Where are you located?have you checked out investment clubs in your area?
Great advice! Bird-dogging is one of the best ways to find a mentor. It’s a great risk free way to learn the ropes, especially if you plan to become an Investor. You find motivated seller leads for pro Investors, and they will pay you a referral fee if they are able to close. More importantly you can learn a great deal from the real life transactions you will be exposed to. When you provide good usable information that saves Investors time and money, then they won't mind taking time to help you learn the business. The key is providing useful, qualified leads for an Investor that you are compatible with. It's win-win. [ Edited by rejobber on Date 06/13/2003 ]
Thanks for the advice. We live in Jacksonville,fl and are looking to join a local invesors club in our area. How would we go about getting involved in the "bird dog" business. I t sounds like a good and smart way to learn about the business . What would be the steps we needed to take to get involved?
