General Liability Insurance

I'm getting a Builder's Risk Policy from Zurich on a re-hab property. However, the lender is also requiring General Liability Insurance. I've contacted several insurance Brokers and non offer General Liability Insurance. Does anyone know insurance companies and/or agents in Illinois that offer General Liability Insurance?

Why're you wanting General Liability? Typically, GL goes right along with Workmen's Comp, and usually only Contractor's get that. I know, I know, there's tons of different situations, and this subject's been beaten to death on tons of threads, but, usually only Contractor's are required to have those types of insurances.

I was going to hire a sub-contractor who does not have insurance. Therefore, my lender required me to get General Liability Insurance. After speaking with several insurance brokers, I've decided not to hire this individual.

I would recommend contacting an independent agent that deals with Westfield Insurance out of Ohio. I recently obtained rental insurance on a vacant property for rehab really inexpensively. Hope it helps.

Make sure the premium is not fully earned, or see if they have 3 or 6 month policies...[ Edited by norrist on Date 11/23/2004 ]
