Funny Term Has Me Confused - Someone Clue Me In Please....
Anyone ever heard the term "Chicken-Headed Baboon" when dealing with RE Agents? I'm thinking of using it in a planned conversation with a RE Agent who I believe is withholding an offer from me to a seller. I just want to know from the Pros here if they think it would be appropriate.....
Never heard it before. What is your understanding of the meaning?
I guess maybe a baboon body with a funny-looking chicken head on it. But again, I am just guessing. I am sure one of the more savvy pros here will be able to enlighten us on this.
LOL...I think they may be insulting you without you knowing it!
No, never heard of it and I wouldn't use words you don't understand. People with the knowlege will know if you don't know what you are talking about. # 1 giveaway: using words you don't understand!
I can honestly say that this is the first time I have ever hear that expression.
Colorful though.
I think I read here somewhere that some investors will actually tell the agent they will be simultaneously mailing a copy of the offer to the seller.
Frogger, I think you are even more cunfused than I. No one used the term to describe me, I am thinking of using it on the RE agent. By the way, what do you mean by "insulting?"
Chuck,
By law they have to show all offers, although I know some don't.
You can ask to present the offer in person. If you seem to get nowhere with him, ask to speak to the managing broker about your requests.
(I've only had one problem with this, the seller was overseas. Then I requested the fax confirmation.)
Hope this helps
Dave
I don't think that verbage will advance your cause. I never enter into a seed spitting contest with someone who's carrying my offer. She has to present your offer. You have to get an acceptance, rejection, or counter-offer from the seller. Many states require that the seller sign a form to at least indicate that the offer was conveyed to them.
The closest I can come to describing this creature , is a picture of Lufos which I keep in my wallet.
Sammy,
It could not possibly be Lufos, he is 6' 7", built like Joe Atlas, penatrating blue eyes that women go crazy over, wavy blonde hair and is worth millions of dollars.

you can use the term only if they actualy look like a "Chicken-Headed Baboon"

"Chicken-Headed Baboon" - Someone with very little brains who likes to throw their weight around, or push others around...as defined by Terry
Geez, I'm sure I've met this agent - I think I tried to do a deal with her a few years back!
As I recall, I contacted her broker and nicely explained that I would appreciate her cooperation in getting my offer presented in a timely fashion. (after all, it's the designated broker's butt on the line!)
LOL!!
Gentlemen:
First of all the description has some merit. It is indeed an improvement over what my last client called me. At least this is printable.
John O'Lock is pretty accurate, yes I do have bloodshot blue eyes.
Sammy yu still got the picture. Damn.
Now where else can you have friends like this?
