Found Homes, Where Are The Owners?

I have been making a note of the abandoned and/or neglected homes while I am driving around and have found several that really have potential. I have plenty of investors to assign to as well.

I look up the addresses with the assessor and find out who the owners are but have yet to actually find these people!

Does anyone have any advise on how they go about finding the owners of abandoned properties?

Thanks in advance.

Where are the tax bills sent? Have you checked that out?

Marilyn, Please email your links to me. **Please See My Profile**

Bargin, The assessor has the mailing address where the bills are sent and it matches the abandoned house. There are wholesalers flyers and realtor cards all over the doors with mail piled up.

Hi - There - just curious - where do you find your investors ? I seem to have the opposite problem. As far as owners, look up the real estate property tax value and that gives you the owners (names and current address).

Try www.whitepages.com It is a free online phonebook. You can look up their name or do a reverse address to make sure the name on the property is the owner name that you have, if not it could be a tenant in which case call, they may have owner info. I usually use just a first initial ( if the last name is not Johnson or Smith) and search in the whole state.
