Mentor or partner in BOSTON?
Hello all. I am new to this site. It's so full of information. What a find!! I am looking for a mentor in the Boston area. In lieu of that, a partner to team up with would be great. I have a lot of ideas and a lot of energy. I just need somebody to help direct it for profit.

Hello Scott, Welcome aboard. What is it that you want to do with a partner/mentor? Do you have a particular direction that you want to proceed with your investment goals? Have you gone as far as independent study can take you. I tell you that partners in real estate investments can be a bit tricky. Unless you get paper work drawn up by a lawyer to spell out the ground rules of the relationship. I would just try to manage on my own.
As you find deals that you are interested in the purchase, to be honest life will teach you a lesson. I mean the broker will tell you "no you can't do that", the banker will tell you "no you can do that", the seller will tell you "no I can't do that". So you see you will be working with mentor all the while. After all those "no you can't do that" you will be informed about how you can do what you want to do. So get out there after you have properly prepared yourself and put in some offers.
Thanks for the reply. I guess what I am basically looking for is somebody to put my head together with. Somebody who has my/our best-interest in mind, rather than a divergent interest from the seller, banker, etc. Although, I do appreciate your comments and can see how going it alone would provide me with some real-world mentoring.

have you looked into a local REI club. there you will find plethora of information, aborb all you can then take verns addvise and get out there.
