Help With Foreclosure Process
I was wondering if I could get some help with the foreclosure process. I am trying to find prospective investments that are in foreclosure. Is there a way to search for when the Liz Pendens is filed. The one county court house that I went to didn't have any information on foreclosures. They only gave me the name of the papers that they use to advertise the foreclosures in. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

You need to go back to the courthouse. They have the papers, they are public record. You just must have toalked to the wrong person. Be persistent until you get to the right section. The department that handles the foreclosures have the paperwork. Good luck. You might try calling first and going from dept. to dept. instead of on foot.
Hi Todd,
Sunre summarized the answer well. Go ahead and call the courthouse before you go to find out what office in the courthouse is sitting on the files. You should call the Recorders office and the Circuit Clerks office. One will probably have limited information on their computer system, and the other office, will indeed have the full foreclosure folders.

I assume the filing of the Liz Pendens is the beginning of the foreclosure process. If so, will the court house have this filed in their records.
Of those of you who work these, is this the route I want to go or at least start?
Thanks much
Sorry guys, try again. Florida and Illinios are Judicial states, so you go to the courthouse.
But here in VA, and in MN, sales are from publication. The ad goes in the paper, and the place is sold. Nothing shows up at the courthouse until the sale is over.
So the courthouse people answered your question correctly, and you need to start getting that paper, and clipping the foreclosure sales!
My best luck, is the Legal Notices in the news paper. I get together 5 houses from there (usually takes 2 or 3 days) and i'll go out 2 or 3 times a week and knock on their doors.

In Minnesota we have a Judicial and Non-Judicial foreclosure process. it depends if there is a Power of Sale clause with the lender.
So which process would involve filing the Liz Pendens with the courthouse?
That's werd your court house doesn't have foreclosure cases. I would say try to find out where they record the deeds for closings in your area. Here in Chicago you're able to look up the case, look inside the case file to get the mortgage, note, attorney & all the information you need to find out about the case. Maybe in you area they don't allow this information to the public. My understanding is that it's public information so they have to research that info. Good Luck & "HAPPY NEW YEAR"
We have foreclosure cases but they go through a non-judicial process. The only way to market to these are through the newspapers. Any ideas.
