Flies In Window Jambs

My parents have a house and there are hundreds (thousands?) of flies and nests in the jambs of the windows. I have never seen anything like this before. We checked all the windows and every one has flies. We sprayed raid and then scraped out the mud/grass nests and cleaned the windows.

Does anyone know what causes this? The windows have a crank and open outward. The flies are in the jambs.

Look for dark and damp places that they may be growing. Flies come from Maggots. If there are no maggots in the windows, the flies may not be growing there. Flies will die near the windows because they keep trying to get out, that doesn't mean they are growing there!

I agree. I have not seen any maggots, but there are nests made from mud and/or grasses.
