FL Les Pendens Written Reponse To The Court

When a property owner is served with a Les Pendens in FL, it tells them that "You have 20 calendar days after this summons is served on you to file a written response." I often get asked from my clients what reponse to write to the court. Any ideas what they should write. Also, I have been told that writing a response can buy you more time, is that true?

They can just explain that they wish to challenge the proceeding etc. After the Lis Pendens it is usually 2 months or more before court.
After the Lis Pendens they can keep trying to negotiate witht he bank until the hearing

So I just write "that I wish to challenge the proceeding etc"? Does that change anything as compared to if they did not respond?
