Is there a way to find out online what stage in the foreclosure process the homeowner is in, or if the NOD has been filed?

Point taken Ryan. Thanks for the reponse. I found the site that list public records by county but it did not show whether or not the property was in FC.. Is it possible that it is not update to date?

What county are you researching. Have you tried to see if that county has public records online? My county has public records online and maintains a seperate list of just NOD. But realize that it is a double edge sword. If the information can be found online, it is easier for everybody so you will have more competition.
