Finding Comps In Texas

We just moved here from Oregon. In Oregon we could use free websites to evaluate a home we were considering. Does anyone know of a company website in Texas where we can have access to comps?

Sorry no such thing in Texas. Sales price is not public information. The only way to get sales prices in Texas is with the MLS database. To do that you need to get an agent to pull the comps for you. There is one web site in the DFW area that will let you run MLS comps but they charge a pretty high fee.

BTW: Don't be fooled by the few "free" TX comps websites. The data is total BS.

This web site http://www.domania.com/ covers some of the following counties in Texas: Bexar, Brazoria, Cameron, Collin, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Kaufman, Montgomery, Nueces, San Patricio, Tarrant, Travis

You would be better served by getting information directly from a broker or realtor.

Thank you for the responses. Someone had told me about a Castle website with a fee involved. Does anyone know the acutal website? I don't mind paying - just looking forward to finding out information like we used to be able to do.

The web site is www.mycastle.com; They will run individual comps for you for $10, but I will warn you that the only set I had them run for me were bad. They also offer the "dealinator" which allows you access to the MLS information. I think it runs like $200 to setup and $100 a month.
