FAQ's For Each Forum.
Since each forum has moderators, why can't these forums be a bit more organized?
For example, each forum is on a specific topic. Create a FAQ for each forum. Ensure that the FAQ gets top billing or its each section.
This will accomplish multiple things:
A. It will stop about 150 posts per day from ever happening because the answers will be available from the FAQ.
B. It will stop about 450 ridiculous replies to the above 150 posts that won't be there any more.
C. It will allow for more intelligent questions since all the basics will be covered.
D. It will help EVERYONE, I even see those with hundreds of posts ask basic questions about different subjects.
I also find it quite amusing that moderators need to have no experience in their particular forum. You should have at least some knowledge of the Forum you are moderating.
Now, I know from my past experience, that my big mouth gets me in trouble, but seriously, this site is a great source of knowledge, in fact, its really the only bulletin board type site that I frequent regularly.
Lets make a good thing even better.

I agree that it would cut down on the repetitiveness, but it might also discourage new responses and perspectives from being added. An interactive forum helps to make this fun, and in real time. I like your idea, but I wouldn't want to eliminate the rotisserie. How can we do both without creating a huge burden on the moderators? I'm all for it if we can find a good way to do it. Z
We already have a FAQ section. We might expand upon this in the future. But there are already several FAQ's already there.
