Experienced Investors - Which Course?
Well I am a college student and new at real estate investing. My college teaches both Appraisal and Home Inspection classes, and I was wondering if it would be better to take these classes offered from my school or invest in a home study course that was actually made from a real estate investor? I would imagine the one made from the Investor is probably better.
Also there is this book called "How To Analyze Your Market and Your Deal" its by Tim Randle. I am really wanting to get this book, or do you think an Economics class teaching supply and demand would be just fine?
I believe in learning at least a little bit about something before diving right in.
Please do not try and talk me out of these choices, just if at all possible give me some insight on which route I should go. Thanks for your help.
What type of investing do you want to do...Foreclosure,pre-foreclosure,rehab,Subject to?? If your just starting out I would recomend carleton sheets. He pretty much goes over all the basics.
I would buy the book, info on specifically what you are interested in and less $$$ than a college course.
You can get a beginner investor book for less than $20, same as what carton sheets sells his kit for what $200.00? Same info w/o the pitch to buy this other stuff. Just my opinion.
I would take the home inspection class because the knowledge you obtain there will help you be successful regardless of what type of real estate investing you want to do. I wouldn’t worry about the Appraisal one.
Pick any beginning book you want. I used to keep my eyeballs on the screen and see who recommends what. People on this site and others give no holds barred reviews on courses LOL.
