Experian Plays Hard Ball !!!!!!!
I have made progress with removing negative information from Transunion & Equifax. Experian plays hard ball. For an entire year they wrote back to me: this item was verified on x date and remains www.unchange.I have seven items that I need removed before I can get that "good" rate. Any one know how to make more progress with (the bad guy)Experian?
Im not sure of a better way to get them to remove the entries... however.
Bear in mind that most all lenders use your middle fico score to determine your loan eligibility. So if you have 2 good scores then you will have a good middle score.
No offense meant, but if they verified the information was correct how are they the bad guy? Sounds to me like they are doing their job.
Sounds like you must use another tactic on your letter disputing the charge. If you keep using the same line they will keep giving you the same reply..

dstudabe or what ever your name is, any one who hinders my progress toward my definite cheif aim in life-I'd consider him the "bad guy".
Stock Pro,-Your idea is Golden-I will dispute the items on different premise.
You are worth your weight in Platinum and ice. Bling Bling!!!!!
Try This...It normally works...
Let's say you have a charge off in the amount of 2,000.
I have never had an account with this company with a balance of 2,000.
Or, I have never had an account with XYZ company that was opened in 12/98
These may help you.

I have personally and told client's about these procedures:
1) Contact the company that has filed the negative against you. See if they will voluntarily remove derog comment. Sometimes that does work. Receive a statement from the company that they agreed to remove derog from your report.
2) If what you have been trying still fails with revising your dispute statement ... If you owe the company money ... negiotate a low-ball settlement with the company that you will settle for $ ___ IF the company completely removes the derog on the credit report. Have company prepare statement and have the company sign it and you receive a copy.
3) Pay company and send company of copy their signed letter and state you will be checking to verify that the derog has been immediately removed.
4) I know of a 2 times company did not remove it ... so then inform the credit reporting companies with the sign letter ... immediately and without despute the negative is removed.

Another option is to let a Highly Ethical and Professional Company do it for you. I've personally used and recommend a Law firm that specializes in Disputing Credit Report Data. All I had to do is tell them which derogatory entries I wanted to dispute and they took care of the rest. As far as price was concerned, I felt that paying $37/month was well worth the expense. Besides, I didn't have to worry about a thing and was never burdened by thinking about how to write those dispute letters to the Agencies. :-D
Tks Greg, Lopez & Ocampo-
The suggestions are all good, but here is the order I would place them in.
Plan "A"
1. First I would do as Greg suggest and deny on other basis. For about a few month. If no postive results, then I would use: That is cheapest way.
Plan "B"
This is the 2nd cheapest way.
Hire an attorney giving them a time limit of a few months for postive results. I used the Princton law firm and they did not remove one item of experian. Maybe another atty would get better results(I don't know) Lastly.
Plan "C"
Deal with the creditors www.derectly.This is the last resort as it may be the most expensive as I have 7 accounts 5K, 4K 5.5K 3k, 3k ,3k, www.2k.To contact them- (the Orignal creditor) is work as they sold the www.accounts.They think that I would actually give them 50%. They must stop smoking that www.stuff.More like 1% if any www.thing.I do what is most economical & effective.
Hey ..
I am speaking from my own personal use of a company a few years past when credit repair companies came available. I was charge $700 and I LEARNED a lot from that experience.
SO when I learn something at my expense ... I like to share it with my clients and people that ask.
Yes ... first ask for full removal ... which you ask for help with the one company that has denied the 7 removals after your attempt for 1 year.
Then ... second was the options that I do know WORKS !! Again my own use and clients (about 25).

Thank you for answering my question. I now see that you are the bad guy since you have gotten in the way of your financial success.
dstudeba,
Isnt he funny, He calls you the enemy but 3 years ago when he was late on payments or just not paying on them he probaly called the people he owed enemies.
20352035,
I may be wrong, but negotiating a partial payment... that's also indicated on your credit report.
Example.
OldREIers Clinic of The Sic & Ill:
bill: 500. Neotiated250. Bill paid in full.
I seem to remember something like that when we cleaned up or credit.
Thanks,
OTW
Are you hand writing these letters to the credit companies? I know you can go online and pull your own credit then use the online resources to dispute your derogartory accounts. I am under the impression if one of the companies will erase some bad info then the other companies should take it of as well. What happens is the credit company sends out letters to the derog acoounts and if they don't respond within 30 days the credit company is obligated to take it off your report. So, as I was saying before, if one company doesn't respond then they shouldn't respond to either of the credit companies. Just a thought on improving your credit the easy way. I have used this with some of my customers and with success.
If you are able to come to a payment arrangement it WILL remain on your credit report....sorry. However, if you are successful in disputing derogatory entries they will be REMOVED (no trace of EVER existing). The later, in my opinion is the way to go. I have referred many clients, friends and family members to a Law Firm that HELPED ME (a mortgage broker) many years ago. So friends, don't despair too much for we live in a society where professionals can get the impossible done. Where else can you hire an attorney for $37 dollars a month to get rid of problems that have taken you years to accumulate? <tinge of sarcasm, of course> Just please bear in mind that ALL items WON'T dissapear overnight, it will take several months -- mine took 8 months. If this helps but one person, I'll be glad. Good Luck.
Just because one credit bureau deletes a negative trade line doesn't mean the other two will. For instance, Capital One could respond to a dispute on Experian and not respond to EQ and TU. So, the item would remain on EXP but be deleted from the other two bureaus. Also, you are always better off to dispute your credit report yourself, but if you want to hire someone, stay away from companies that charge by the month. They have no motivation to get your disputes done quickly. Most will only dispute 1 to 2 tradelines a month to prolong the time that you pay them.
I personally discovered with the help from the credit repair companies ... that the companies just money SOME of their money.
And by having them put in writing that you will pay them $___ to satifisy to bill and part of that agreement is that they will remove it from your report. Usually 1/3 amount of the bill they will take.
Most companies I worked with will agree because they see it now as a total loss and no money and you are offer some. Yes you need them to coop because you need it to make your credit report a higher rating.
I even had a store soliciate me to come back as a customer and I mentioned to them about this 60 day late they reported on my credit report. Since they wanted me to be a customer they REMOVED the 60-day late. Just today, I received "quaranteed approval" card for a company that has derog on my report from years ago ... so I am going to call them and tell them to REMOVE that derog.

You may notice your advisors here have said there are legal and *ethical* ways to solve this problem. If you solve the problem unethically, but do not fix what caused it in the first place, you'll be in a worse bind in the future.
Hey,
Am I the only one out here that is sickened by this???
Here is a guy who did not pay his bills and wants this bit of TRUTHFUL information removed from his credit report, because it hurts his chances of borrowing more money. Well...let me explain it to you...you shouldn't be allowed to borrow more money, because you did not pay back the last money you borrowed.
Basically Experian should get a big gold star for doing their job right. The next person, be it a bank or other lender, can trust that the credit score that show for you is correct.
You also might want to look at the name of this forum; it is called "Credit Repair/Debt Payoff/Living Below Your Means". It is not "How to Cheat the System to Give You a Better Score."

I agree completely. As a person who pays money for those credit reports I don't want them to take off quality information just because they are too lazy to verify it. It is disappointing that it seems that only one of the three companies did their job in this case.

We are on different sides of this naturally as you owe people money that you are not going to pay, and people owe me money that they are likely not going to pay. You don't have to agree with me or even listen to me, but if you do ONE thing, listen to what InfoSponge3000 said. No matter how you raise your credit score, cure the root of the problem.
People...please, have a little understanding. You do not know the circumstances behind an individuals current credit standing. I could list a sleu of reasons that could cause ANYONE to become so financial burdened as to have derogatory entries made on their credit report. These groups are meant for open discussion as to the best course of action to take on a SPECIFIC topic. If you have issues on what methods are to be used because of personal assumptions on your part then perhaps being an investor is not necessarily your cup of tea -- you need to have an open mind.
--'nough said.
I'm sure the Church Lady could be a successful investor.
But I'm not going to have that attitude against anyone willing to step into the arena and fight for their due, and a bit more than that if they have the cojones. And if the bluenoses want to tut-tut, so be it.
If you're credit is messed up, there's nothing wrong with fighting to clear it by whatever means necessary (thanks Mr. X).
I'd rather pal around with Teddy Roosevelt and Ernest Hemingway than Immanual Kant and Thomas Merton any day.
Thank you sir.
Of course, I was a college student at the time without a job & no family www.support.Today all my accounts are perfect paid up to www.date.I learned my lesson and this made me a better person. I appreciate credit www.more.It is tough taking may classes (doing 32 credits) in college and having no job and a total of 15K in credit line.
I tried to defend my self with my last post, but I was a bit hostile and my post got romoved.
I beleive it is the a word ( the A word with two dollar signs). I here it on TV all the time, but use it and the post is removed.
You are right alot of the people with bad credit learn there lesson and ran into a problem at the time which caused the bad credit.
We got some good thinkers on TCI.
That is not exactly true, not all credit grantors report to all 3 credit agencies. And they contact each other by different means. For Example, a Property Management company may choose to do most of its buisness with Transunion (or whatever it is called now) and have it all computerized, or it may do it only through faxes or letters and to all 3. Each account is different. So what one credit agency does or does not do has no impact on what the others do or do not do.
Good News!
Today I got my first Deletion off the Experian credit Report.
I am very close to getting that low interest rate from the www.bank.It took the two Ps, persistence & prayer. One day I too will Join the elite group of those who have the honor of 850 points as a mid score. Thats when the banks will beg me to borrow money from them.
Then I turn them down, and let them see how it feels to be shot down.
Go to www.creditboards.com, credit forum. You can learn alot about disputing and credit repair and rebuilding. You can have success in credit repair, it just takes time, perserverance, and knowledge.

... No one should be trying to "beat the system" as that is the most unproductive behavior of all. ... It is very simple to clear up derogatory credit listings. Simply contact the original creditor and make a WRITTEN arrangement to pay them something ( usually less than 1/3) and in return they will agree to delete their negative reference. It is as simple as that. I assure you anyone you owed money to in the past simply wants to get paid. They really do not care about anything else at all.
Unfortunately, they care about losing access to the CRAs, who hate the "Delete for Pay" idea.
Delete for pay can be very tough (though I recommend hanging tough yourself, as long as you can ... sooner or later you need to do some deal and at that point you're over a barrel):
