Can someone explain the eviction process in Michigan to me? How do you document when tenants stopped paying? Who does the eviction? How do you notify tenants, anything else....
Your first step is to give the deadbeat a Demand for non payment of rent. This is a seven day notice to the tenant and you can not begin proceedings until seven days after you have done this. If the tenant has not paid by the end of the seven days, you can file a demand for possession and money judgement at the court. I have a great property manager that handles this for me. If you are interested in a referral, contact me through my profile.
Try www.findlaw.com and put in landlord/tenant and your zip and state
