Eviction Of Multiple Tenants

We have two tenants in our rental who we started to evict. Unlawful Detainer was filed, and one of the tenants was served. My understading is that a tenant has 5 days in California to Answer. Does anyone know, what happens in the case where one tenant was not served yet, does the tenant that was served still has 5 days? What happens if they do not answer, would the default judgement gets entered, even though the second tenant was not served? :-? [ Edited by reinatalie on Date 05/23/2004 ]

Consult a real estate lawyer. In California, if you have a smart tenant, they can drag your eviction out for a long time.

Seek legal assistance ASAP. The legal system is for the professional. Your business model is at risk!

check out the local association of landlords as well.

Around here, they had alot of good info for people in the buy & hold model.
