Ever Heard Of This Guy/company? Please Advise...
I was wondering if any of you have ever heard of "omegacity.com" or Dave Zelenko(owner). It is a REI company that mentors it's students and helps them get deals signed and closed, in exchange for a 50/50 split of profits. It has a little MLM tone to it and I don't trust network marketing companies. I was hoping some of you have heard of them and or could advise me on whether this is a legit way to begin REI. I did a google search and checked with the BBB. Clear with the BBB, but not much info found on the net.
Thanks!

There was talk of this guy on the site about a week ago. Search through the forums and you'll find it.
Thanks for responding!
I tried that already. Searched for "zelenko properties", "dave Zelenko" ,"omegacity.com" and "omegacity".
Had one hit for a poster who works with this group, but didn't get into much detail.
Was hoping to get some feedback from some others who may know of them.
Thanks!
Sickdog, just do the deal yourself. YOu might botch it, but probably won't. In exchange you will get a great education.
I think it is a HUGE scam these real estate "mentoring" programs. Real Estate is full of mentors who are really just using their students as bird dogs. The mentor then swoops down and steals the deal and really teaches the student little. Think about it, why would the "mentor" want to teach their student to be independent?
If they would just not call themselves mentors I think that I would find it less distasteful. A mentor should be impartial and looking out for the best interest of the student. But this is impossible when they are potential partners on a deal.
Could you imagine going to therapy to discuss business problems and your therapist is your business partner? Would you trust their advice?
Anyway, I know nothing specific about your guy. Search the forums for just the last name. And at least he tells you right up front that he will take 50% of your deal. But you know that he will use his title company, his survey company, etc. I guarantee you will pay more so that ultimately you will get less than 50%.

Since this kind of topic just begs for either illegal ads or counter-comments, some of which just might be libelous & unwelcome by the site, I'm a-lockin' her up.
FYI, I've lots of times found people on Google when wanting to check out their bonafides, so you might hit the search engines and see what you can find.
