The marshall & swift guide is the best out there that can be used to estimating repairs. I know they provide classwork for public in learning how to do it. There is a learning curve on how to use there manual, but once you learn it, I am assuming it is very helpful

With any estimating program, much of its accuracy will depend upon the knowledge and experience used in determining what is actually required to do the project.

Marshall and Swift is also used extensively by insurance appraisers...................funny how their numbers are substancially lower then what actual cost should be.

In the last 6 weeks I have done 3 insurance estimates for clients that had extensive water damage to their homes as well as speaking with claim adjusters about pricing.
Most of them were using the same program.

The adjusters were off an average of $3000.00.
Many items they left off were things such as having a licensed electrican disconnect and reconnect devices.........same thing with plumbers not being involved.
Then there were also mold issues that needed to be resolved.

I suspect that the majority of professional rehabbers have their own spreadsheets they use in conjunction with their personal experience and knowledge..................at least this is what I do.

Professional rehabbers, let us know if you use a program or have your own.
