FYI, many towns and cities have "Green River" ordinance prohibiting house-to-house solicitation, but the savvy know there's little to fear from its enforcement.
Local cops and code enforcement folk are far too undermanned and overworked at best and have little time to bother or hassle salespeope.
You might get "cease and desist" letter from City Hall, but it'll just tell you to stop whatever you were doing or be prepared to be bothered further, etc.
Just so you know, the city of Surprise, AZ (NW Phoenix suburb) will enforce the ordinance after 1 (ONE) warning. They can be persuaded though IF you follow the proper channels, and register yourself, and pay them their licensing fee. It varies in each municipality. You'll seldom get into trouble so bad an apology to the person that calls you on the phone to let you know that you're in violation of a code won't cure. At least the first time.
Good luck,
Jeff
