Does This Business Partnership Need An LLC?
My parents, my husband, and myself are going to buy a lot of land together. We live in CA, they live in WI.
My brother (in WI also) is a builder who is looking to jump up to be a general contractor. We all have total confidence in his abilities.
We want him to build a house on the lot then sell dividing the profits after everyone is compensated for already invested funds.
My brother does not have funds to invest, but will be compensated for his labor. He already has an LLC for his self owned construction company.
Do you think my parents and us need to have an LLC before we purchase land and/or begin construction?
Any advice would be very much apreciated.
