Credit Repair Service
Any one know of a good credit repair service? I have about 18 items I need to dispute between the three agencies and just don't really have the time to write them all letters. Is there a fairly inexpensive service that will do this for me?

This is your credit you are talking about. You need to take time to dispute them. You can dispute any items you don't agree with online. You don't have to write lengthly letters. You can even get a credit report from ****Must Reach Senior Investor status before posting URL's***, and dipute them on line. With experian and equifax, you have to call to get your credit reports and dispute them online or on the phone. They will research your dispute and get back with you within 30 days. I order my credit reports every six months to check to see, if they are accurate.
It took you more time to post this forum than it takes to dispute a credit item.
It's really easy. I've done it. You simply tell them which account is wrong and why. You only have to be brief. When they get your contesting letter, they automatically take that off your credit until the creditor has had a chance to respond. The burden of proof is on them. If they don't respond in a certain amount of time (30-90 days?) then that piece of info stays off your credit. If they can prove you owed it, then you may need to refute it in more detail.
If you refute everything bad, some of it will just simply disapear because the creditor is too busy to respond, or it gets lost in the mail, or they can't find the file.... etc.
If you still can't get legitimate things off your credit, then you might think about hiring someone, but I'm fairly confident that you can do this yourself. Besides, why trust anyone else with it?

I concur- it is your credit why would you pay someone to do something that you can do for free? It's simple and it is SO important. Of course, you might want to dispute all the items from all 3 bureaus so that they can all be updated at the same time.
