Credit Card Settlement Question

How's the credit card settlement reflects your FICO? How long does it stay on you credit report?

Thanks,

Alexander.

For a charge off, the only way to tell is to know your DOLA (Date of Last Activity), which is the date the 7 year clock starts from. For an account that has not charged off, it'll be 7 years from the settlement.

The effect on FICO is unpredictable, but "settled" is better than "charge off" or "paid charge off" and worse than "paid" or "paid in full" or "paid as agreed" as a notation.
