From my experience, each loan is assigned to a particular loss mitigator, we don't get to pick and choose. Call the number on the seller's statment or last correspondence from the lender and ask who is handling this account in loss mitigation. You will be directed to the correct person. If you have to leave a message, don't wait for them to call you back. That could take years. Call again several times a day until you get ahold of them. That is the only way I seem to be able to get things moving. Good Luck.

To get the ball rolling, begin to assemble what is needed in the majority of boilerplate, applications for short sale consideration: property data, mortgagor financial data, etc.

It usually takes a while for the homeowner to get copies of tax returns, paystubs, bank statements, credit card statements, etc., so the sooner you get them started, the better prepared you will be when assembling the application, and when preparing your compelling Proposal.

I usually ask that the homeowners provide a current credit report BEFORE I spend a nickel's worth of time on a potential ss candidate.

Thanks SS Pro!! I am venturing into the SS area and that info is excellent! I have 2 that I am working on and you are so right.. the HO take a while to get the info.. sometimes in a Power of Sale state, the timeline is very short. It helps to have this info as quickly as possible.
