Costa Rica Land ?
What does everyone think of investing south of the border?
Bahamas? Cayman Islands? Costa Rica?
I see 1 to 2.5 acre lots for $85,000 and less. Is it a good investment to build and then later sell?
Whats the deal with investing internationally?
Are their added risks?
thanks for your comments!!
RE: "Whats the deal with investing internationally?

You might not even speak their language.
What if the country breaks out in a civil war tomorrow?
What if their economy goes to hell?
What if squatters took over your land?
What if the govt took it back?
Point being there is infinite risk involved.
I recommend investing where you best know the market.
I was under the impression that American citizens can not own land in Mexico. How did you get around that issue?

From the website of http://www.lewrockwell.com/reed/reed93.html
“Until recently, foreigners could not buy land in Mexico unless the title was placed in a Trust (Fideicomiso). Now a foreigner can purchase a home or vacant lot in his own name, except for property located within 50 kilometers of the coast, or national border. A home in Puerto Vallarta or Nuevo Laredo would still need to be purchased in the name of a trust.”
There is a GREAT article here which I found quite educating.
