Communication And Contact

Hello Investors,
I was hoping someone could answer this for me; What RE Investments have the least communication/contact with buyers or sellers? I was thinking maybe “flips”? I think on this one you maybe deal with an agent.

Can you give us a littly context? What are you concerned about?

Well I have worked most of my career as a one-man team. I never had to deal with customers. My background has been design in resid. So I don’t have any skills in communicating with the customer. I have 30k to invest but don’t really want to deal with the seller or buyer. I would just like to deal with an agent. So that’s why I was asking about other RE Investments that don’t require much contact and communication with the buyer or the seller.[ Edited by Alexfromsocal on Date 05/22/2005 ]

I am in the same boat as you and have never been a people person. Flipps are what I do. i either have a good real estate agent I work with find me houses or buy them at auction. Both ways I have very little contact with the sellers. And then the agent seels them unless someone approches me about buying them during rehab.

    cdkerr1,

I guess that is what I was trying to say. I am not really a people person. Do you know of any other RE investments that I can do where there isn’t much contact with the buyer or seller?

    Alex,
Agents are people too. You seem to be willing to deal with an agent. Are you concerned about a potential adversarial interaction with a buyer or seller?

If this is the case here are three possible solutions.

    1) Use a real estate agents. I do all the time and two of them have become very good friends.

    2) Work with a partner who is more comfortable in dealing with buyers and sellers

    3) Try do desensitize your anxieties. I am not a salesperson, but there was a period when I had to do it. I was terrified at the prospect of calling a stranger on the phone or worse yet, making cold calls in person. It took some time, but I got comfortable with it.

I hope this is of some help.

    Regards,
    Ed
