Coming Out Of College And Want To Rehab

Hi everyone. I'm 22 years old and will be graduating from college this coming December. I'm interested in going into the rehabbing aspect of real estate, but I am the sort of person who needs step by step instructions (and I don't have any rehab skills). Can anyone give me some pointers or recommend books about this to me? Also, am I taking too big of a leap? One of the books I read said that flipping is the best way to start out in this business. I want to be able to start soon after i graduate. I'll be living at home with my parent (rent free) and the only debt I'll have is student loans and low credit card debt. Someone please point me in the right direction. smile

I would start with what I call cosmetic rehabs...paint, carpet, fixtures. The bigger rehab projects can get costly and time consuming very fast. When you start gutting kithchens and bathrooms hidden problems always appear. I would suggest finding a good inspector or an experienced rehabber to look at anything you are thinking about buying that needs rehab. Hit this person up with lots of questions.

Forgot to mention...if you are anywhere near me you could tag along on a rehab and see what is involved.
