College Student Beginning In REI

Hello everyone~

I am a third year college student and I am looking into REI for a better income than what my future degree can offer. I am very interested in wholesaling for now to get quick cash and experience. Do you believe this idea is good? Also, is there anything else I can do to begin REI while being a full-time student. ( I plan on beginning REI this summer.) Any advice?

I wish I were as smart as you when I was in college.
Now is the time to learn...trust me.

You began by posting the question!

Keep surfing the site, reading threads, asking questions, etc...Put together a timeline/business plan and go at it. Don't get "analysis paralysis" and GOOD LUCK.

    Congratulations!
You have chosen a great path. Norrist has just given you some solid advice; there's a lot of experience freely available on TCI. Just make it work for you. I would like to add the suggestion that you hook up with an experienced investor and become a birddog for now. You will quickly learn to see things through his/her eyes, and that will speed up your learning curve. Do come bach here with your questions, as everyone will be rooting for you.
Remember this, you're not re-inventing the wheel.

There are some good responses to your post and I agree with essentially all. One thing you might do is to begin doing analysis on properties so you understand them financially. While saying this I am not disagreeing with norrist. There are many who analyze rather than act on anything.

You can practice on properties you see advertised in the newspaper or on the internet. You can also imbed these analyses in a structuring the numerical part of a long term plan. Spreadsheets are very use for this.

Hope this helps and good luck to you!
