Does anyone know how to remove the black burn marks on a flat top stove I have spent so much time with the stove cream and it helped but at this point I am making no progress. Any ideas?
If you are talking about those glass-ceramic cook top ranges, I use a product called "CeramaBryte". I have a GE range, and this product was recommended by the manufacturer.
For stubborn stains, I use a razor blade scraper, then apply the CeramaBryte using a lint free cloth (old T-shirts work best). Let dry, then buff to a mirror finish.
Steel wool or abrasive pads will damage the cook top.
any of these -- while stove is cool -- let it soak for awhile
vinegar
baking soda
oxyclean -- or orange clean from same manufacturer.
oven cleaner
scrape what you can with a razor and then try oxyclean
Frequently I will just replace the top for $50. It is cheaper than a new stove and makes it look real good!

Stock where do you get the new tops??

see, my baking soda tip finally paid off. I think this is the first time my advice has actually helped someone.
