Carpeting In Hallways
I'm thinking of putting down some indoor/outdoor carpeting in the hallways and sairs of my 4-unit apartment buildings. I have one property that I purchased with carpeting already installed, and I really like it. If anyone does anything similar in their properties, could you please share what sort (color, strength, etc.) of carpet you use, whether you use the glued or padded versions, and any additional info/advice on this topic that you think might be useful.
Thanks all.
The last carpet I used was a non skid put out by bretlin, came in grey or beige. It lasted quite a while considering Florida's weather patterns. after 3 years thought the sun fading on it was noticeable, but wear and tear was minimal. It was glued down because of the area I had it put in was always getting wet from the rain.
As long as you dont use astroturf green it usually looks proffesional and not tacky at at all. I agree it is great for Hallways, Foyers, stairs etc. It tends to last longer than the the traditional home stuff, but commercial grade indoor seems to last even longer if you are going to hold on to the property for 10+ years. Also that 3M stain resistant spray used once a year really does work, if you are going to steam clean it annually.
