Carpet To Put In When Retailing A Rehab

What are you rehabbers putting in properties that you intend to sell to retail buyers?

Plush or berber?

I personally have been putting in plush but have seen a local rehabber who does several monthly putting in berber.

What's the general consensus?

I put in berber. It only cost me $1 more per yard. I also like the Home Depot blinds that are made to look like wood blinds. For not much more money, the berber and the blinds make you house look more contemporary.

Frieze carpet (pronounced Frih-zay) is the most popular stuff on the market today. I think it beats all others hands down in terms of looks and durability. You can get a decent builders grade from a small carpet outfit installed for under $2 sqft with pad..

Berber uglies out too fast and most professionals know that. Plush is too finicky to footprints and dirt. Textured is okay and the old standby but Frieze is the best carpet invention since carpet was invented IMO.

Stick with a Nylon fiber and stay away from the Poly stuff. The Poly is crap and will mash down quick. Don't let a salesman tell you otherwise.
