Any course will work if one takes the knowledge and imply it to real life.

I agree with John Michael, but to a certain degree. No program will work without your work and determination to make it work, however, for the money, there are other books I would buy instead. Do you know which area of real estate that attracts you the most?

I am a graduate of the Carlton Sheets program (although I hate to admit it). I think it made me decide to follow through with what I had already known would work. I think somehow commiting to spending the money for the course made me also commit to succeeding in REI. Do I think it was worth the money???? The books are good beginning info. but there are definitely more informative ones out there...the 'coaching' money could be much better spent elsewhere. However, I have been successful thus far and I have no one else to thank for it but CS...and myself.

I am a student of Carlton Sheets and believe it is a very good introduction to Creative Finance/REI. I am currently in the Personal coaching program and agree with dsharon from Myersville, MD, regarding the money for coaching. However, some of the other programs I reviewed were more expensive. In the end, you control your own destiny or succeed in REI. If you’re just starting out in REI, I recommend you read or review the Real Estate Principles book. This book has a lot of information you will need to learn over time.

ditto on what dsharon said. I am in the same boat as he is. I bought it and credit the program for getting me motivated to get out there and do what I already knew, and I am not sure if I would of had it not been for cs. granted the people on his commercials are few and far in between, but his information will work if you get out there and work hard, but it wont be as easy as he says.

I purchased CS course about six months ago and it took me a long time to really learn the information I also read alot of other books which made me understand his course alot better. I bought my first propertys about a month ago for 1000/dwn no credit check using one of the technics CS teaches.

I bought the CS program after I took some other courses that I thought were great.

Had I started with Carlton's program first, I may have listened to more than one cd.

I have yet to listen to the course, I feel it's too slow paced for me and it's very focused on Motivation, which is very important and some people need motivating to get started.

But if you're new, maybe it's just what you need.

I was lucky; somebody gave me his tapes a few years ago. I listen to them on and off. He is a good speaker: clear, concise, consistent...all good for those who are building confidence to move forward and decide what they want to do and what they can look further into doing. They always lead me to do further research and talk to the 'right people'. Too many people will tell you what cannot be done, when they have NO clue. * The work is all yours * :-o

i still listen to them on occasion even today they are a good refresher into the basics.......km

I agree with what everyone else is saying. CS is good for motivation, but his courses alone will not get the deal done. You will still have to get other books and net work to get the ball rolling. And you will need some sort of cash to do anything. I think what he says can be applied, but you will definitely need to consult (probably even pay) a real estate attorney to make sure what you are doing is legal. It is not as fast or as easy as the infomercials make it seem. grin

Well, just acuse me of being anal, but just go out and take the local real estate agent licensing course. Nothing says you have to take the test. That will get you enough information that you will know just a little bit about a lot of areas, then go to the local library and check out the books on the areas that interest you.

CS isn't the only guru out there. Google the net and see what comes up.

    Good luck,
    Bob

I had seen CS but was more interested in Kiyosaki ads. Read Rich D Poor D and was inticed to buy the Cashflow games. Those are great!! Especially for the family! Got Rk Course, but then got the CS course... I thought it was worthwhile... I have to credit RK for inspriration but little subtsance.. CS has lot of good info, after you get past the inspiration.... I bought all of these at a discount from ebay...

I got my set at Goodwill for a dollar--and plenty of sets sell on Ebay all the time, cheaply. The info is useful but not indispensible. Plenty of tools and affirmation for getting started, which is the most important part. I haven't watched all the videos or read the material, I just jumped in and now I don't have time for it, which hasn't been a bad payoff.

Good Day every one. I myself also obtained CS program a while back and agree to start is fine, but there is so much info missing that I picked up from here and there. The best tech is "Lease Option" . But it's missing the most used in my case "subjest to", "Flipping" or "assiging" sales contracts and pre-forclosure with bank discounting morgages. So on and so forth. good luck and happy hunting.

i am too a graduate of his books...I think they are great and am using his techniques now...it is not easy to make anything work and it is not a get rich scheme...but, it does give you huge knowledge on real estate that otherwise would not be known especially since he is a long time investor...get it on ebay if you do not have the money to get it from him...i got everything he sells and think it is worth every penny.
