I doubt the city will remove it free of charge. You have to take care of that yourself man. Call a junkyard and make some money on it. They will remove it and probably even pay you for the junk. Good luck

    Does it have a tag?

You can call a towing agency and they will remove it.

Or the idea to sell to a junk yard and make some $ sounded good, too

Are you sure no one who lives in the neighborhood owns the car?

The owner may have chose your house to park the car in front of because they saw it was vacant.

On the car, you cant tow in my area unless tags expired no matter how junkie. If expired dont ask for a possible problem to make $25.00 call police and have them have it towed. Then you cant be blamed or sued.
On the furniture I think it depends on if it would be considered abandoned if no one is there.

    jameel99,

Police Departments are generally not allowed to tow a vehicle from private property unless the vehicle is a stolen recovery. Most towns have private property tow companies that are registered with the city and are the only ones allowed to remove abandoned vehicles from private property. As far as taking it to the junk yard and making a quick $25.00, this is illegal unless you own the vehicle and sign off the vehicles title to the junk yard. Make sure that you get reciepts from any tow company that removes the vehicle...just to cover your butt!! This is the legal way. Now if you just want to get rid of the car and it just happens to find it's way off of your property and onto the street....now thats a whole different story

If furniture an persnaol belonging have been abandoned, you may call your local garbage collector and schedule a "special pickup of bulky items". If they are decent items, and still useable, why not call goodwill or salvation army. Salvation army will ususally pick the items up AND you get a tax deduction!

Check with your state law about storing proprty left over from tenant. Sometimes you have to wait so many days before youy can get rid of.

    Good Luck!

I've only done this once, but according to my atty, the contents belonged to me only after I got certificate of title (not certificate of sale)

If the owner wanted their stuff they had 10 days (time from date of sale until date certificate of title was issued.) The foreclosure judgment referred to the 10 days as well. I sounds like ample notice is given through the foreclosure process.
