Can I Be Sued?
If I have a signed contract with a GC for remodeling a house that I own, and part of the written agreement was for electrical work. The electrician that the GC subbed for the electrical work was never paid by the GC, but I have paid the contract in full and have provided paperwork to show this, can the electrician still come after me as the homeowner for the money, even though I already paid the GC as part of his contract? I had no agreement whatsoever with the electrician other than the written agreement between me and the GC which was paid in full. I am in New Mexico if that matters. I will see an attorney if I have to.
Thanks,
Scott
