Calling Sellers

Has anyone had any luck picking up the phone and calling FSBY's listing their properties in the paper or is this a waste of time. I don't have a lot of money to run ads or send out postcards. Any suggestions?

How many are there? Will your fingers fall off? Maybe you'll get a deal! Give it a shot, just don't try to close the deal or even present a creative deal over the phone until you are confident enough to convince them and set them up for your visit where the actual close will take place.

Do it, it's a great way to start. You'll be talking to sellers, and that's a lot more then what most people do. You might land a couple of deals, but all you need is one to get the ball rolling. try it, but don't give up if you can't find one in there.

Yeah, it is a great way to start, but an even better way is to go to your local library and find papers that are 2 months old and 1 month old. Then look in the FSBO section and get the numbers and start calling those bad boys!

Talk about motivated, if you reach someone there who hasn't sold their home yet...guess who will be listening.

NOW that is one of the easiest ways to find motivated FSBO's and very, very cheap too!

    Good luck,

Great advice! Instead of letting your leads age their already aged for you.

It's a Great way to start. That is how I did it. After talking to hundreds of UNMOTIVATED sellers I found it was cheep to send out the letters and post cards. If you are real strong willed, you will do ok. Don't let them beat you up.
You do not have to send thousands of letters to get calls from motivated sellers. Start slow and do them your self.
    Just my thoughts. Good Luck

you could go driving too. i see plenty of fsbo signs in storefront windows, abandoned homes and occupied homes too.

concerning the "aged" leads, do this for a few weeks and call the ones whose sign hasn't been taken down yet, or it looks real old and changing colors, etc. maybe that doesn't happen around where you live but it's everywhere in the city here (philly).
