Buying Property From A City Or State

Has anyone out there ever purchased property owned by a city or state? I constantly run into properties that are vacant in residential neighborhoods and owned by the state. When I do a title search on the properties they were purchased eons ago and ear marked affordable, but the contact info usually points me to a municipal PO Box . NEVER ANY SUCCESS WITH LETTERS! (usually no response).

The agency that owns the property should be listed. Get a phone number and call and tell them you want to purchase some city/county etc property. They will then take it through the process to auction it off as they are not supposed to sell it directly

Yes definately. Check my posts for where these listings can be found in addition to the ones you already know.

I do suggst you make sure you have the budget and labor (contractor/handyman) to renovate this tyoe of property.

Generally they have been vacant for some time and even the municipalities themselves can sucker you into a money pit.

    Good Investing
