Buying Property After Sheriff's Sale.

Has anyone tried to deal with mortgage company's after the sheriff's sale? Did manage to get ahold of one "Chase Manhatten" and they said they have insurance and that most of the properties go back to the investors, Fannie May, V.A. Hud etc.and then they usally put them to realitors. Has anyone tried to get these properties before they get to the realitors? Wonder if any suggestions on Website? smile

    Perhaps one place to start is to develop relationships with some REO brokers. An investor freind of mine was able to get a very good price on a house that had gone back to the bank by contacting the broker and getting the property before it had gone up for sale to the general public.
