Buying A Property By Lease Option

How do you buy a property on lease option. From an investor standpoint? Is it the same way you rent one out on Lease option? I'm confused surprised

Same concept but as a buyer you want better terms. Say 100 down as an option consideration and a long exercise period

So what your saying is that I should extend the payoff period longer and the option payment would be more as well?
Meaning, if I was buying a property of $100k to keep numbers correct, I would extend the payoff period and buy on a higher option payment???

When trying to buy on l/o you want to get the best terms you can. Try to get at least 3 year option period and get your purchase price at todays or under if you can. Try for a low option payment if you can and keep monthly payments around market rent. Also try to get the right of assignment in your contract. Put your lease and purchase agreement into one contract for your benefit. These are just some of the things you should know, hope it helps a little.

Negotiate and get the best possible deal. Remember, you are dealing with someone who is possibly a member of this board and they are being told to adjust the option price for the future.. I would be curious to know the outcome. Good luck!!
