Business Name
I am have heard so many different answers to this questions, so I am more confused now than every before. The question is a follows : When nameing your business is it a good or bad idea to include your name as some portion of the name ? For example if my name is John Smith, is it a good idea to name my business Smith Property Group ?
personally I would not include my name in the company title. There are times that I do not want someone to know I own the company like dealing with tenants. You can blame things they do not like on the company and if you were ever to sell your company it might go over better if your name was not part of the title. I also have found at times it is better to not have the title real descriptive of what you do. I have owned a construction company for 30 years and over those years i have changed my type of jobs I do several times but I can stilol use the same company name because it does not closely deswcribe what I do.
